Things to Do in Fairbanks in Summer
Last Frontier Events|June 20, 2026
With the midnight sun overhead, Fairbanks summers pack a lot into very long days. Here's what to do.
On the water and the rails
A sternwheeler riverboat cruise is a Fairbanks classic, and the Alaska Railroad connects Fairbanks to Denali and beyond.
History and gold
Try gold panning at a historic dredge, and wander Pioneer Park for Alaskana, museums, and a pioneer townsite.
Get outside
Hike, bike, or golf at midnight in the endless light, or drive out to Chena Hot Springs for a soak. Denali National Park is a doable day trip to the south.
