Active since
1991
Guster formed in Boston in 1991 and have been making melodic, hook-driven indie rock for over three decades without ever losing their audience. The trio — Ryan Miller, Adam Gardner, and Brian Rosenworcel — built a following through relentless touring and a series of albums that balance catchy songwriting with genuine musical substance. They're the kind of band that has songs you know but might not know you know.
The catalog
'Amsterdam,' 'Barrel of a Gun,' 'Satellite' — Guster's catalog spans acoustic-leaning folk-pop to fuller indie rock arrangements. Their 2003 album Keep It Together remains a fan favorite. They've been described as 'the indie band that your college roommate who also liked Phish listened to.'
Live reputation
Guster are known for energetic, crowd-interactive shows with genuine chemistry between the three members. Thirty years of touring has made them excellent live performers — tight without being stiff, loose without falling apart.
Pro tip
Catch the full set — Guster typically run through the deep cuts and b-sides at smaller festivals like Salmonfest, not just the radio songs.
