Three days of music and on-site camping is a marathon, not a sprint. A few simple habits make the Salmonfest weekend much better.

Dress for the Kenai

Coastal Alaska in early August can be sunny, cool, or rainy — often all three in a day. Bring layers, a rain shell, and waterproof footwear.

Fuel and hydrate

Drink water, eat real meals from the vendors, and pace your weekend. Bring cash, since not every vendor takes cards, and a battery pack to keep your phone alive.

Camp smart

Arrive early for a good campsite, mark your spot so you can find it again, bring earplugs, and be a considerate neighbor during quiet hours.
