Things to Do in Seward Beyond the Race

Seward is worth far more than a single day. Whether you're in town for Mount Marathon or not, here's what to do.

Kenai Fjords National Park

A glacier-and-wildlife day cruise out of Seward's harbor is one of the best boat trips in Alaska — calving glaciers, whales, sea otters, and seabird colonies.

Exit Glacier

Just outside town, Exit Glacier is one of the few glaciers you can walk right up to, with trails from easy to the strenuous Harding Icefield hike.

In town

The Alaska SeaLife Center is a great rainy-day stop, and the harbor, restaurants, and waterfront make for an easy stroll.
