On Saturday, July 11 from 12-4 p.m. join the Wander the Wetlands nature walk with Discovery Southeast and the Southeast Alaska Land Trust. Richard Carstensen and Steve Merli are two of the best naturalists and expert hike leaders in Alaska, and you will have a great time exploring this 127-acre conservation area! This year, our wander will take us through the Montana Creek Wetlands that provide flood water relief from the annual jökulhlaup or glacial outburst flood (GLOF), and we’ll talk about how glacial retreat has shaped this valley for centuries. We hope to see you there! Beginner hikers & families are welcome. We’ll meet at the end of River Road on July 11 at 12:00!Free! Register online at tinyurl.com/wander2026
