Biography
Todd Grebe is an Anchorage, Alaska-based singer-songwriter who founded Cold Country in 2008 as an acoustic string band to showcase his original songwriting, after previously playing traditional bluegrass in a group called Well Strung. He and fiddler Angela Oudean, his wife and longtime musical partner, are based in the Anchorage area.
From roughly 2010 to 2013, Grebe was a full-time touring member of the Alaska-founded band Bearfoot, playing guitar and singing alongside Oudean, Nora Jane Struthers, and P.J. George during the band's Nashville years; Bearfoot went on permanent hiatus in March 2013, after which Grebe and Oudean returned to Alaska and refocused on Cold Country as their main touring act.
Cold Country has evolved from an acoustic bluegrass quartet into an electrified honky-tonk country band, releasing the self-titled Cold Country (2008), Until Tomorrow (2010), and CITIZEN (2015), the latter recorded in Nashville with support from a Rasmuson Foundation grant.
