Nome in the race
The champion arrives in Nome 8–10 days after the restart, often in the small hours of the morning, and the town turns out under the arch regardless of the time. The final musher is honored with the Red Lantern.
Mile markers are approximate and shift with the year's route. Nome sits on the bering coast leg of the 2027 southern route.
