Skwentna in the race
Teams come through Skwentna in the first day or two, often at night, where a dedicated crew of volunteers handles a flood of dog teams. From here the trail begins its climb toward the Alaska Range.
Mile markers are approximate and shift with the year's route. Skwentna sits on the southcentral leg of the 2027 southern route.
