White Mountain in the race

Every team must take an 8-hour layover at White Mountain. It levels the field for the run-in and is often where the race is truly decided before the final dash to Nome.

Mile markers are approximate and shift with the year's route. White Mountain sits on the bering coast leg of the 2027 southern route.
